Blue Hat Project

Community Impact Program

Lozano Smith's signature Blue Hat Project symbolizes our team's hands-on pledge and desire to engage in our communities. With involvement by more than 100 Lozano Smith employees, we have assembled school supply kits, volunteered on campuses and invested in our communities through partner projects. We are proud to be more than a law firm and give back in meaningful and inspiring ways.

Trevor Project

The San Luis Obispo office joined the Trevor Project April Walk Challenge to raise money and awareness for the organization. The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people.

Pleasanton Run for Education

Team members from the Walnut Creek office came together to support PPIE in their mission to enhance learning experiences for students of the Pleasanton Unified School District. PPIE is a non-profit, 501(c)3 foundation that supports all schools in the Pleasanton Unified School District.

Care Kit Partnership with ACSA and Coachella Valley Mission

Lozano Smith proudly partnered with the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) to help support unhoused individuals. Featured at the 2022 Every Child Counts Symposium, attendees helped assemble 250 care and personal hygiene kits! Completed kits were donated to the Coachella Valley Mission for distribution to locals experiencing homelessness.

  • Washington Unified School District
  • Westside Union School District

Giving Bins

You'll find a giving bin in the entrance of each Lozano Smith office. Most often, you'll find it full when a drive is taking place. Recently, each office partnered with local organizations as part of a blanket drive to help support a focus on homelessness. Lozano Smith was pleased to partner with several local agencies and deliver more than 100 blankets to various community organizations, including:

  • Poverello House
  • Good Shepard Center for Homeless Women
  • Father Joe's Villages
  • Winter Nights Family Shelter
  • Community Homeless Solutions

Community Partnerships

Volunteering and forming local community partnerships is essential to advancing the mission of the Lozano Smith Foundation and our Blue Hat Project. As one way to symbolize our belief in hands-on involvement, each office was equipped with donations and an invite to serve a local organization, educational institution or public agency. Our team was thrilled to participate in a wide range of service projects, including:

  • Campus beautification
  • Serving meals
  • Distribution of school supply kits
  • Distribution of backpacks
  • Sorting fruit at a distribution center

The pledge was a symbol of what we believe in, and most important, who we believe in. We are grateful to the partnerships that were formed, including:

  • Majoree Mason Center
  • Central Valley Justice Coalition
  • Los Angeles Regional Food Bank
  • Skid Row Learning Center
  • Bay Area Crisis Nursery
  • Housing Community Solution Sea Side
  • Mustard Seed School
